Kanu's Biafra call will not benefit Igbos"

- Prof. Abdulhameed Ujo called on Biafra agitators to shelve their idea - The university don noted that Igbos were well integrated in the country - He emphasized that no country can survive two civil wars Prof. Abdulhameed Ujo has accused Nnamdi Kanu of not having the genuine interest of Igbos at heart saying the call for Biafra is a call for another civil war. Vanguard reports that the don at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja spoke on Tuesday, July 4 cautioning those calling for the disintegration of the country.  He reminded agitators that no sitting government would support the break-up of Nigeria. Ujo noted that there were ways that people can employ to raise their concerns but not mobilise to break-up the country. He said: ‘‘I have a feeling that the idea of disintegration does not even arise, If they are thinking of disintegration, they should take some factors into considerations. ‘‘If we are to go into disintegration, we are going to have another civil war and there is no country that has ever survived second civil war.” He said the Igbos were in all part of the country and were well integrated saying Kanu’s call for Biafra was not in their best interest. ‘‘They have business structure all over Nigeria and somebody wanted to cause problem without considerations to the value of their investments outside the region. ‘‘Does he want all of them to go back to the South-East? The region has no enough land mass to accommodate them and their businesses.  ‘‘The differences we have are likely because the country is not well integrated and I have always said that there is a need to reinvent the process of reintegration in Nigeria. ‘‘We can unite as a country and become a very powerful nation in the global system.
