Nigeria must continue to remain as one - Emir of Katsina.
- Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir called on Nigerians to be united - The traditional ruler described all Nigerians as brothers - He said those calling for break-up were enemies of the country Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir who is the emir of Katsina has declared that Nigeria must continue to remain while urging those calling for secession to shelve their ideas. Vanguard reports that the traditional ruler who is also the chancellor of the University of Ilorin was quoted as saying this in the institution’s weekly publication released on Wednesday, July 19. It was reported that Unilorin Pro-Chancellor, Dr Abdullah Oyekan, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace where the traditional ruler noted that although the situation of the country was serious, break-up wasn’t the solution. He said: “This country must remain one indivisible sovereignty that it has been since time immemorial” He said the renewed agitation was caused by “agents of disunity, especially those who do not want the present administration to succeed.” “Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas and other tribes in the country – we are all brothers and sisters and we must be wary of these unscrupulous people.” NAIJ.com earlier reported that Kanu revealed that federal government offered him five south eastern states to make up the proposed Biafra state. The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) made this comment when leaders of Igbo Civil Society Coalition led by Prof. Obasi Igwe paid him a solidarity visit at his Umuahia home. Kanu who spoke on Wednesday, July 19 said while he was in detention, he was offered Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu state to form Biafra but he rejected it. He instead insisted that he wanted a Biafra with Rivers and Benue States. He said: “They gave me Biafra in Prison with only the five Igbo states; I said no, I want Benue and Rivers” “Biafra is coming, there is nothing to stop it”.
