Nigeria must unite against perpetrators of disunity - Prof Ujo.

- Prof. Abdulhameed Ujo urged Nigerians to be united - He said those issuing quit notice were enemies of the country - He applauded Governor El-Rufai for calling for the arrest of the youths Prof. Abdulhameed Ujo has called on Nigerians to unite against the quit notice issued to Igbos by Arewa youths to leave the north. Vanguard reports that the don at the department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja spoke on Friday, July 7.  Ujo said the various groups issuing quit notice were enemies of the country. He noted that no reasons have been given for the quit notice and was therefore not in the interest of the country. He said: “After the first quite notice was issued by the northern youths, other notices are emerging from various groups in the country with different complaints. “I have a feeling that the so-call northern youths that have done this have no reason for issuing the notice. “Otherwise, they would have come to tell the people the reason for pursuing the agenda.” The lecturer called on security operatives to track those that issued the quit notice and arrest them. He added that some enemies of Nigeria were looking for ways to cause trouble in the nation. Ujo also commended Governor Nasir El-Rufai for asking security operatives to apprehend the perpetrators. “The governor has said the right thing, it is assumed that the law enforcement agencies should carry out their responsibility from there but this has not happened.  “What the youths have tried to do is treason in a way, asking one group to leave one part of Nigeria is very dangerous and against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “It is a constitutional breach of trust and so, the people should be arrested and treated in accordance with the provisions of the law," he said.
